Math Index

As a scientist, and especially as a bioinformatician, I am interested in mathematics. Bioinformatics, as the science of using data to support the biological sciences absolutely requires robust mathematical techniques as part of its practice. Furthermore much of science in general is a practical application of laws which can be described mathematically using mathematical formulae and methods. Much of science too can be tested using statistical methods that are underpinned by mathematics to measure the divergence between expected and observed results.

About Mathematics

Some of the different forms of math, how to use them, and how they can be applied to solve practical problems.

Trigonometry

The math of triangles, which can be used to calculate many other geometric shapes.

Quadratic Equations

Quadratic equations are equations that produce curved lines. They are often used to describe complex phenomena and understanding them is the key to understanding many phenomena in the sciences.
